New paper "Discipline size mediates citation flow"

Here is a new paper about science communication: "Discipline size mediates citation flow" https://rdcu.be/cSQzW co-authored with Mark Bo Chu.

About the paper: It's comparing academic fields using citation data and network analysis and suggesting that field's characteristics (e.g. size) might affect the way fields interact.

This was driven purely by our interest, not for a degree, without any impact of its success or failure on my career. It was such a great endeavor to study citation data and further about interdisciplinarity. It was a hard one, given that we were new to this field, but it taught me a lot about some essence of research projects. It is a proof for me that there are transferable skills to do research in multiple different fields. I also learned that with an appropriate combination of people with different skills that complement each other, one could do research (i.e. publish a paper) in different fields.
